Since embarking on the topic of CPD throughout Nov, I’ve realised I have career aspirations but don’t actively work towards these goals. Which in hindsight is frustrating as I put in hours of training so I can swim, bike and run and take part in triathlons, surely my career should have the same amount of time dedicated to it?
Using the College of Policing CPD model, as described in my recent post Continuous Professional Development, I looked at my current skills and ambitions and discovered that I don’t consider the future of L&D. If I want to develop further I need to be aware of what the future may hold in this industry and find ways to continually motivate a diverse workforce which contains 4 generations who prefer to learn using varied methods.
So, I’ve booked myself onto a CIPD event organised by my local branch Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire in Feb-17. I’m looking forward to this event and love the idea becoming a performance consultant.
